Lead Pastor: Greg

I grew up as a church kid in East Clark County who met Jesus and was discipled by a long list of people through my church. During high school, I realized I wanted to be a part of students and their families coming to know who Jesus is and learning how to live for Him. After high school, I attended Multnomah Bible College (now Multnomah University) to earn a bachelor’s degree in Bible, Theology, and Youth Ministry. My time at Multnomah was truly transformative as a Christ-follower.

In 1998 I was given my first opportunity to lead a ministry with students. The internship was a catalyst that God used to give me a heart to help students and their families become disciples of Jesus. In 2001, I was hired as the youth pastor at Trinity Fellowship in SE Portland where God shaped me as a young pastor. It did not take long to realize that I wanted more education to better serve families. I enrolled at Western Seminary where I crammed a two-year master’s degree in counseling into four years.

Halfway through my time at Western Seminary (2007) my wife, Lindsay, and I moved to Camas. In 2008 Harvest offered me a position working with youth and their families. A few years later I was asked to oversee and advise children’s ministry at Harvest.  Shortly after that, I was invited to be an elder. In 2017 I transitioned into the Lead Pastor role.  Lindsay and I love our church and our little town. Both have provided a great place to raise our four kiddos (Kaden, Raegan, Hudson, and Maddison).

Even though I grew up in the church, I resisted a life that was truly centered on Jesus and kept him as a backup plan in case my plans didn't work out. Funny thing is, my plans left me really empty. Before I could even think to go to Jesus as plan B, he had already been in pursuit of me and welcomed me home with a grace that was completely overwhelming. I knew I wanted to live a life filled with Christ's purposes and that's what led me to working with the Harvest youth group.

I've been here now since 2010 and now serve as the Youth Pastor. I love doing life with students because of how hungry they are for purpose and relationships that matter. We hope for our youth group to be family and to grow our roots deep into Jesus, knowing that we are his disciples and in turn to go out making disciples.

I'm married to my best friend and love doing life and ministry together. We both serve as Young Life leaders and have a blast connecting with students from Camas High School. We also love Ben and Jerry's and The Office! This community has helped shape us as a couple and we're thankful to have a community who has thoroughly cheered us on.

I grew up going to church in the Camas/Washougal area with my family. We came to Harvest in 2003 and it has been home ever since. Serving and being in community here has been instrumental in my walk with Jesus and my growth in love for Him and His Word.

When I began working at Harvest in 2010 as a temporary and part time employee, I didn't anticipate how much I would grow to value adminstrative work in a church and love serving alongside this wonderful staff to be a part of God's Kingdom coming in Camas. I also volunteer on youth staff with the high school girls. I love helping people see God's heart for the nations, as well as be attentive to the needs of our missionaries.

I enjoy reading, traveling, making and sharing good food, and adventuring with my husband. I've been overwhelmed by God's kindness to me in countless ways throughout my life. One of the most recent ways is through His provision of my wonderful husband!
